October in the Chicken Coop

This month in the chicken coop....

... Frog learns a new trick:

A quick hop up onto the windowsill and she neatly avoids the fence we've built. We don't think she gets into the veg patch this way - we've seen her squeezing through holes in the fence again - but invariably this is how she chooses to get out when she sees us coming (or is bribed!). Typical. The fence still does the trick with the other three which prevents complete destruction, and fortunately there's very little left to harm now anyway, but we'll have to come up with a better solution before next spring. *sighs*

  1. It would be even cuter if it didn't mean she'd been scratching around the veg plot!

    1. Thanks - I would say she's the brains of the bunch - but also the most agile, I'd like to see our large fowl try and pull off the same trick!

  3. She's a clever girl. I think you may need a roof on the coop to stop her.

    1. Fortunately the coop and run are completely contained so there's no getting out, even for Frog. However, its also very muddy so we intermittently let them out into the main garden for some foraging. The fence she's cleverly avoiding is the one that has kept them out of the veggies all summer - it needs a revamp I think!
